Web Application & Reporting

Clinically Validated, Automated Symptom Scoring On The Web

The Kinesia web application provides a simple interface to define patient protocols and review objective Parkinson’s symptom reports after a Kinesia study is complete. The web application is secure, encrypted, and HIPAA-compliant for reviewing and storing patient videos and data.

Defining a patient study

Study Dates and Times

Study setup

The start and end dates of the study, and specifically which days patients should complete automated motor assessments using the patient kit. Also, specific times can be defined for each day that will cause the kit to alarm, reminding the patient to complete a motor assessment.

Motor Tasks

The specific motor tasks to be assessed with options of rest tremor, postural tremor, kinetic tremor, finger tapping, hand movements, rapid alternating movements, and dyskinesias. The system will use objective motion sensor data and provide 0-to-4 scores for each of those tasks.

Medication & Activity Diary

Medication and activity setup

Specific medications can be defined such that the patient can use the touch screen interface to indicate when doses were taken.

For a patient diary solution, patients can use the touch screen to subjectively rate their own symptoms and activities at any time during the study.

Once a study is defined, that definition is transferred to cloud based storage where it can be retrieved and loaded via the system’s 3G broadband network onto a patient kit.

Viewing Objective Parkinson’s symptom reports

As a patient progresses through motor assessments, results are uploaded from their patient kit to the web application using integrated 3G broadband. Within seconds of assessment completion, new report data is available for review. The Kinesia web application automatically scores study data to quantify tremor, assess dyskinesia and measure bradykinesia; scores which are correlated to traditional rating scales such as Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS).

Parkinson’s Fluctuation Motor Trend Reporting

Motor trend reports display time-stamped symptom severities over the course of a day. Using the motion sensor data, automated and clinically validated algorithms process 0 to 4 scores to quantify tremor, assess dyskinesia and measure bradykinesia. Scores are color coded from 0 (green) to 4 (red) to provide an intuitive map which can provide insight into symptom fluctuations. Additionally, scores can be clicked to view a video of the patient completing the assessment.

Kinesia motor trend reports can indicate when Parkinson’s symptoms are not controlled (left), when patients are fluctuating (middle), and when symptoms are well controlled (right).

Custom Reporting

Custom reporting

Custom reporting to demonstrate patient ON and OFF times

Specifically for clinical trials, data from the motor trends report can be further summarized to determine patient states and changes in ON or OFF times.
